A Twitter user came across a leak that appears to point to AMD’s entry into the foray of the mobile space and comes with an SoC that could rock the industry.
Dubbed the Ryzen C7, the SoC features an 8-core processor which consists of the following: 2 Gaugin Pro cores derived from ARM Cortex X1, clocked at 3.0 GHz, another two cores derived from Cortex A78, clocked at 2.6 GHz, and another four cores derived from Cortex A55, clocked at 2.0 GHz.
Adding more to the interest is the likely possibility of the market seeing the fruit of both AMD and Samsung’s collaboration back in 2019 with the RDNA-based graphics solution. A graphic processing capability so powerful, it surpasses the Adreno 650, which is typically found in high-end smartphones, such as the Samsung Galaxy S20.

Further compounding the appeal to the rumor is the alleged LPDRR5 RAM support and 2K display with a 144Hz refresh rate.
Lastly, part of the rumor suggests that the SoC is being built by TSMC on a 5nm process node and will come with 5G connectivity, thanks to MediaTek 5G UltraSave Modem integrated into the chip.
But, while fascinating, it is worth highlighting that this is just a gossip for now as AMD has not openly confirmed anything just yet.
