Acer has announced some new laptops in its Swift series, the Acer Swift 5 and Swift 3. All models come with the recently launched Intel 11th gen Core processors. 

The Acer Swift 5 laptop comes with an ultra-thin and light design, which will be powered by the 11th gen Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, and its battery is expected to last around 17 hours. There’s fast charging support which is rated to give you around 4 hours of use with just 30 minutes of charge.

In addition, Swift 5 features a 14-inch 1080p display with antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass. According to Acer, the Swift 5 will be able to achieve a screen-to-body ratio of around 90%, about 34nits of brightness, and coverage of the sRGB color gamut up to 100%. To provide a more improved graphics over the Intel’s previous-gen integrated graphics, it was equipped with Intel’s Iris Xe graphics.

The antimicrobial coating is not just limited to the screen but is also available on the keyboard, touchpad and all the device’s cover. The whole package weighs about 1kg or 2.29 pounds.

Similar to the Acer Swift 5, the Acer Swift 3 is also equipped with Intel’s 11th gen Core i7 and Core i5 processors. While the Swift 5 has just one model, the Swift 3 is available in two 13-inch and 14-inch models. The 13-inch variant has a 2K display in contrast to the 14- inch which only has a 1080p FHD display.

The 13-inch variant has a taller and a more surface-like display with 3:2 aspect ratio, which will likely be the more sought after one. Its sRGB color range covers around 100% which can achieve e brightness of around 400 nits, which makes it a good choice for creativity. The weight of the 13-inch variant is 1.19kg or 2.62 pounds, with thickness of about 0.6 inches or 15.9mm.

Meanwhile, the 14-inch variant features an ultra-narrow bezel with thickness of about 0.22 inches. According to Acer, it will help to achieve around 82.73% of screen-to-body ratio. The weight of this variant is about 1.2kg, with around 0.6 inches or 15.59mm of thickness.

Both variants come with an all-metal chassis and backlit keyboards, with support for Windows Hello login through its fingerprint reader and LPDDR4X RAM up to 16GB.

The Swift 5 is expected to have a price tag of about $1,000 (~Php48,000), while the Swift 3 will costs $700 (~Php34,000) for the 14-inch variant and $800 (~Php39,000) for the 13-inch version. It is expected to be launched this coming November 2020.
