We previously reported about a possible folding iPhone in the past bu there has been not much of a development since then. Now, a new report says Apple is working on it with a possible release next year.

But Samsung has proven that even the tried-and-tested design is still subject to innovation when it pioneered the first folding smartphone last year with the Galaxy Fold, followed by the more successful Z Fold2 and Z Flip earlier this year.

If a certain leak by Ice Universe is to be believed, it appears that Apple itself is poised to come up with its own rendition of the foldable smartphone.

According to the leaked information, Apple is already in a talk with Samsung for the display it would need to come up with its own. Which, if successful, could provide the company an exclusive supply for at least a year.

The rumor about Apple wanting to delve into the foldable smartphone business started circulating back in 2017 and had become a topic of interest ever since as more and more evidence corroborate to the initial claim.

As of writing, Apple is believed to be developing on the project still. But using the two patents that surfaced in light of the interest give us a rough view of what the device would look like while still in the planning stages.
