Smartphone display sizes have been on the rise since the introduction of the Galaxy Note series years ago, and today you would be hard-pressed to find compact phones with screen sizes smaller than 6-inches as the war on bezels mean that screen sizes are bigger even if the phone size itself hasn’t changed much. We’ve gathered a list in this article to help you with those looking for a smaller phone.

Samsung Galaxy S10e

It may be small in a screen size of 5.8-inch, but it’s powerful. It has the Dynamic AMOLED screen that the S10 and S10 Plus uses. Quality is excellent as the colors are vibrant and have high contrast. The viewing experience is almost as good as the S10 but in a smaller screen real estate.

Powering the Galaxy S10E is the Samsung Exynos 9820 with Mali-G76 MP12 GPU. It has the 16MP 123-degree ultra-wide-angle lens and the 12MP 77-degree wide with OIS. The quality of shots is as good as the S10 and S10 Plus.

The Samsung Galaxy S10e is priced at Php 39,990.

Samsung Galaxy S20

The Samsung Galaxy S20 has the right amount of exceptional features you can find in a flagship. It sports a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2.0 display with a maximum screen resolution of WQHD+ (3200 x 1440). The S20 comes with a high-end Samsung Exynos 990 complemented with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM. And one of the highlights of the Galaxy S20 is its cameras. It’s loaded with a triple rear camera setup composed of a 12MP F1.8 main, 12MP F2.2 ultra-wide, and a 64MP F2.0 telephoto. For selfies, on its “O” front camera resides a 10MP F2.2 shooter.

You get the same beastly performance found in the S20+ and Ultra, the same quality of photos and videos, and of course, the same outstanding display for the price of Php 49,990.

Xiaomi Mi 9 SE

The Mi 9 SE’s display measures smaller at 5.97 inches, sporting an FHD+ Super AMOLED panel, with a screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, making it safe from the keys in your pocket.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 powers the Mi 9 SE, paired with Adreno 616 GPU and 6GB RAM. It is equipped with a triple rear camera setup on the rear, comprising a 48MP main, a 13MP ultra-wide, and an 8MP telephoto shooter. As for the front camera, the 20MP is housed inside the notch.

The Xiaomi Mi 9 SE and its variants are priced as follows:
6GB RAM + 64GB – Php 15,990
6GB RAM + 128GB – Php 17,990

Apple iPhone 11 Pro

The 5.8-inch iPhone 11 Pro is no longer the smallest new iPhone you can buy, though it remains one of the best smartphones around. This iPhone also marks Apple’s first with its Super Retina XDR display: an OLED panel that topped an almost unbelievable 752 nits of peak brightness.

The iPhone 11 Pro starts at Php 67,990 (64GB).

Apple iPhone SE (2020)

If you’re looking for the best possible experience on a small phone right now, this is the small phone to buy. It sports a 4.7-inch LCD. The 2nd Generation iPhone SE has the same processor powering Apple’s current flagship devices, but it now comes in a more compact and affordable package. It’s got the iPhone 8 design with an A13 Bionic chipset, a 12MP rear-facing, and a 7MP front-facing camera capable of recording in 4K. It features Touch-ID, is IP67 certified, and is powered by a 1,821mAh battery with support for Apple’s 18W fast charging.

Pricing starts at Php 26,490 for the 64GB variant.

Apple iPhone 12 Mini

Apple has officially announced its latest iPhones for 2020, and it includes the iPhone 12 Mini. Soon it will be available here in the Philippines, and it is the smallest iPhone that has debuted in years. It looks like the iPhone we’ve wanted for a very long time. Well, for those who love small phones.

It has a 5.4-inch screen, OLED display, and it is powered by an A14 Bionic processor and dual-cameras that consists of 12MP F1.6 main and 12MP F2.4 ultrawide for the rear, 12MP F2.2 for the front camera.
