Facebook being exposed to data breaches is not brand-new news. However, this latest one is quite substantial.

It’s been reported that about 533 million Facebook users across 106 countries have their private information leaked. This information includes full names, bios, Facebook IDs, phone numbers, birthdays, and locations.

In its defense, Facebook said that the stolen data was scraped because of a vulnerability in its platform, which they have already fixed back in 2019. Still, users who haven’t changed the stolen data can still be affected.

However, there are a few ways to check if your account is affected. One, you can visit the website Have I Been Pwned and key in the email address you use for your Facebook account.

There’s also a website called The News Each Day, which uses your phone number to check if you’ve been affected. Albeit, it only works to United States numbers.

Affected or not, it’s best to take precautions to keep your Facebook account safe. For starters, you can change your password regularly or set up two-factor authentication.
