The COVID-19 pandemic have clearly affected the economy of the world, including the Philippines. Most people were laid off, while some lost their livelihood due to quarantine restrictions.
If you’re one of those people, then you might want to embrace the WFH (work from home) culture. There are a bunch of fields you can venture and apply on, including this Beijing-based online-teaching platform called 51Talk.
The company’s founder and CEO, Jack Huang, said that there had been a huge demand for English-speaking teachers in China, hence they’re acquiring 30,000 instructors by the end of 2020.
This job opening is offered to Filipinos because, as per Huang, the Philippines has one of the best English speakers in Asia and our Filipino teachers have a standard American pronunciation.

In fact, there are already 20,000 Filipino teachers that are working for 51Talk. The Chinese embassy claims that 51Talk teachers can earn as much as Php60,000 per month.
The best part is, you’ll make that much money just by staying at home. All you need when teaching English online is a stable internet connection, any computer or laptop with a webcam, and a headset with a microphone.
