One of the biggest telco in the Philippines, Converge ICT, revealed that they topped Netflix’s ISP Speed Index.
The Netflix ISP Speed Index was designed to measure which internet service provides the best possible experience when streaming on video-on-demand service Netflix.
This is great news for Converge ICT users who spend a lot of time on Netflix, especially in the last few months where people stuck at home and resort to watching TV series and movies to stay entertained.
Converge ICT added that other than speed, Netflix content is best paired with their services’ better handling of latency, packet loss, and jitter. This allows users to stream content in 4K resolution.
Netflix recommends users to have 25Mbps of internet speed to stream 4K videos. That’s more than Converge’s Php1,500 plan, which is now at 35Mbps from 25Mbps.
As per the Netflix ISP Speed Index, Converge ICT had an average score of 3.4Mbps. Beating Globe and PLDT at 3.2Mbps and SkyCable at 3.0Mbps. Converge ICT has topped the list for six months.
