In less than two weeks, DITO Telecommunity will finally start its commercial operations and break up the duopoly of Globe and PLDT. The first two cities to be serviced on the March 8 launch will be Cebu and Davao, along with nearby municipalities.
Should you make the switch? If we’re talking about speed, it’s one good reason to try DITO’s services.
Per the company’s first technical audit, DITO offers faster-than-average speeds, with a minimum of 85.9Mbps for 4G and 507.5Mbps for 5G. When tested closer to a base station, the resulting speed increased to 102.4Mbps for 4G and 769.1 Mbps for 5G.
In terms of coverage, the audit found that DITO can accommodate 37.48 percent of the Philippine populace in over 8,860 barangays. The company will aim to reach its 51-percent target goal before its second technical audit on July 8.
As for the NCR, it’s slated to be serviced within the year.
