Huawei confirms the global release of the EMUI 10.1, the brand’s latest Android-based OS, on select smartphones.
First seen on the P40 series, the EMUI 10.1 brings a lot of features for productivity and multitasking. The main highlights are as follows:
Meetime – Huawei’s own video conferencing app is integrated on the EMUI 10.1-powered Huawei phones. It provides up to 1080p video quality, optimizes low-light environments and Wi-Fi connectivity, and supports screen-sharing and third-party devices wirelessly.
Multi-screen collaboration – It links supported Huawei smartphone and a Huawei MateBook laptop together. Ideal for sharing important files and receiving and making video calls, this feature lets the users navigate their phone handsfree through their laptops.
Celia – Huawei’s new personal and interactive voice assistant, Celia, can be summoned by either pressing the power button or by telling “Hey, Celia”. The Chinese smartphone brand gives a hint that Celia can identify objects, measure food calories, and do a face-to-face translation.
Huawei Share – This allows users to share media files across Huawei devices and third-party devices.
Multi-Device Control Panel– This makes management and control of connected nearby and IoT devices such as smart home appliances easier.
Multi-Window – Pressing controls, replying to messages, floating windows, and dragging files from one app to another without leaving the active screen.
The EMUI 10.1 is scheduled to roll out on the following devices starting on the latter part of June 2020:
