In a move that many had already anticipated, Facebook has finally merged two of its applications—Messenger and Instagram—which allows for cross-messaging between the two, the social media company confirmed a couple of days ago.
The decision comes from a finding which saw that a third of Facebook apps’ users find it troublesome recalling the app they used after engaging in a communication, despite the relevance of making a connection among 80 percent of the users.

The confusion comes from social media users who use more than a single platform when connecting with others.
As such, Facebook is making both Messenger and Instagram compatible with one another when exchanging discussions, thereby offsetting the issue presented.
