John Paulo “paulowow” Bacani, a retired CS:GO professional gamer, is allegedly preying on fellow gamers in another shooting game, Valorant. One of the complainants claims Bacani has so far amassed more than ₱100,000 from his scam.

Valorant player Molly Octaviano has lodged a complaint to the National Bureau of Investigation, alleging that Bacani made an offer: thousands of in-game Valorant microtransaction points in exchange for a cheap price. When Octaviano sent the money to close the deal, Bacani cut off contact and deactivated his account.

Octaviano said she lost over ₱2,000 from the scam. She also reached out to other victimized gamers and learned that they lost a total of ₱100,000. When contacting the victims, Bacani used various fake names such as Ken A Hidalgo, Kevin Trinidad and Mark Ryan Pagalunan. Just last week, Bacani allegedly fooled another individual, using the pseudonym Sean Ong.
