How To Help Fellow Filipinos Affected by Typhoon Ulysses Using Facebook Even in Small Ways - Android

Tropical typhoon Ulysses directly hit the landmass of Luzon past midnight today November 12, 2020, leaving severe damage in greatly affected areas including Marikina and Rizal.

Many of our fellow Filipinos are in dire need of help currently so if you can, please offer assistance even in whatever way you can.

The Philippines is one of the top 5 most active nations on Facebook currently and what's great is that it can also be used as an effective platform in helping others.

Here are some ways by which you can use your Facebook account to help those affected by Typhoon Ulysses.

1. If you have friends who are living in heavily flooded areas, check their Facebook accounts and message them for support or to ask if they need help. If they need load for getting in touch with loved ones and you have extra, be generous and send them some.

2. Follow the hashtags #RescuePH, #UlyssesPH, #BagyongUlysses, and #TyphoonUlysses to see posts by fellow Pinoys who are desperately seeking for assistance by local government units and volunteer groups. Share their posts on your timeline and fan out their message.

3. Visit Facebook's Crisis Response Page for those affected by Typhoon Ulysses Across Bicol and Calabarzon Philippines (HERE) and Create Post for offering help as shown in the photos below.

Just tap on the blue "Create Post" button found in the topfold of the page.

Fill up the form and specify what kind of help you are willing to extend. It doesn't have to be grand or too expensive on your part -- any form of help will do, not just in financial form. You may offer to send food, donate clothes, or even to just share load to those who need it most at this time.

Once your Facebook Crisis Response post has been created, share it on your personal Timeline or if your have a Facebook Page, you can post it there too.

When I was young, my family lived in a house that was always flooded whenever there was a typhoon; Often knee-deep and sometimes, waist-deep. I know the pain, stress, and suffering that many of you are now feeling because of this calamity. I know because I've been there myself.

Kapit lang po! Always prioritize your safety and the safety of your loved ones in times like this. If you need to, don't hesitate to evacuate to a safer location. Never lose hope and always believe that the sun will shine bright again, eventually.

Let's keep helping and lifting each other up for it is only through concrete acts of love and concern that we can surmount all challenges.
