Huawei has released the update schedule for its latest EMUI 11 update.
For a recap, the EMUI 11 is Huawei’s Android 10-based interface. Yup, not Android 11. It will bring a couple of visual and usability improvements to the smartphones that will support it.
EMUI 11 brags new “artistic” themes, smoother animations, floating app windows for multitasking, multi-screen collaboration with a MateBook laptop, built-in video editor called Story Creator, document scanner, and more.
Of course, it will also bring performance improvements to your Huawei device. As per the company, performance will only decline by 2.5% after 36 months, while devices that had EMUI 9 declined by 5% in only 18 months.
The new update is also equipped with Motion Predict Engine, an addition to Huawei’s renowned GPU Turbo technology that improves gaming performance.
Huawei is also doubling down in privacy on the latest update. For one, before sending a picture, you can choose to delete information like the time and location that the shot was taken, even the camera’s settings and specifications. Moreover, you can only grant app access when necessary, lock sensitive notes, and store data in an encrypted vault.
Now, for the supported devices. Bear in mind that the devices listed below are the scheduled and supported models for the Asia Pacific Open Market, shared by the Huawei Community Facebook page. Oh, and those who will be getting the latest Mate 40 series and Porsche Design Mate 40 RS will get the update out of the box.
