Chinese tech-giant, Huawei filed multiple patent infringement cases against US companies HP, Verizon, and Cisco. The act of Huawei appears as retaliation to its on-going US ban. The report also comes a few days after the UK banned Huawei’s 5G technology, as well as the removal of all Huawei 5G equipment by the end of 2027.
Recent changes in the US Government’s FRAUD agreements have strengthened Huawei’s claims against said companies. The cases stem from patent infringement of Verizon for the technology that it acquired from Cisco and Hewlett-Packard.

With this, Huawei is demanding royalty payments from the aforementioned US companies. If the cases succeed, this will be a lucrative source of income on Huawei. Aside from that, the Chinese tech-giant also requests the court about Verizon’s confidential information with its clients.
The case was unexpected, at the very least. The US government has not considered that Huawei will use US laws against US companies. What makes the matter worse is that the said cases may damage American companies as these may block the shipping and selling of downstream licensees. Moreover, Huawei may refrain from giving licenses to other component suppliers of US companies.
