Huawei recently launched the Mate X2, its latest foldable smartphone. Now on its third iteration, the company has, in a way, perfected the model.
The Huawei Mate X2 now has an all-new compact design, which Huawei claims is well balanced and handles well whether folded or not. It’s frame is made from a combination of high-strength steel carbon fiber composite material that makes it light and strong at the same time.
The phone features a new multi-dimensional hinge, which was developed for over 5 years. The hinge creates a water drop-like cavity that allows the device to fold almost perfectly with a near imperceptible gap, minimizing the crease on the outer screen when folded.
The Mate X2 has two displays, both of which are OLED panels with 90Hz refresh rates. The interior display is 8-inches with a 2840 x 2200 resolution and a 180Hz touch sampling rate. The Exterior display, on the other hand, has a 6.45-inch size with 2700 x 1160 resolution and a 240Hz touch sampling rate.
The large display is complemented by a suite of smart features designed around multi-tasking, including Smart Multi-Window , Floating Window, App Multiplier, App Bubble and more.

Inside, the phone is powered by a Kirin 9000 5G chipset with 8GB RAM and either 256GB or 512GB storage. It has a 4500mAh battery with a 55-watt Huawei SuperCharge.
There are four Leica powered rear cameras lead by a 50MP main a RYYB color filter array and a 4-in-1 pixel binning capability. It has two zoom lenses, a 12MP telephoto with up to 3 times optical zoom, and an 8MP super zoom with up to 10 times optical zoom, up to 20 times hybrid zoom, and up to 100 times digital zoom. Both come with OIS. The last cam is a 16MP ultra-wide that also supports macro shooting as close as 2.5 cm.
