Coinciding a confirmed release in Singapore, Huawei is sneaking in the Petal Search app in the devices it made in 2020 to consumers in the Philippines. Multiple user reports from social media seems to corroborate with the premise.

As a mobile application, Petal Search performs the role of a search engine, which features a rather comprehensive capability of finding information on the internet, whether it is images, webpages, and contact information of local establishments.

One of the major perks of the app for Huawei users is Petal Search’s support for third-party downloads of applications that are not found in the Huawei AppGallery library.

Akin to the normal interfaces of many search engines today, the Petal Search also has a gallery of easy-to-browse information such as news headlines, sports scoreboards, and even a widget for a different streamlined presentation of pertinent data.

It is important to note that not all Huawei devices are entitled for the application. Part of the requirement to get the app is that, aside from the phone having been built in 2020, it also has to have the EMUI 10.1 update pre-installed. These include devices such as the Huawei Nova 7i and the Huawei P40 series.
