Huawei posted snapshots of HarmonyOS on the social media Weibo, displaying its replacement operating system for both mobile (Android) and traditional computing (Windows) space. The images were posted last Monday, which precedes the upcoming Huawei Developer Conference (HDC) 2020.
Huawei’s push to develop its own OS came after a trade war tension with the United States, causing the giant Chinese company to strip itself off dependency on US technology.
Known locally in China as Hongmeng operating system (OS), HarmonyOS makes for a Chinese company’s attempt at going toe-to-toe with world leaders in the tech industry.
As for HDC 2020 itself, the event is slated to take place between September 10 and September 12 this year at Huawei’s Songshan Lake office.
