Huawei has just unveiled the Huawei Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro+. The series could be one of the last best flagship phones with a Kirin processor.
Unsurprisingly, the Mate 40 series impresses with an intriguing design and top-end hardware, including a 5nm Kirin 9000 chip, 50MP main camera, and a 90Hz OLED display.
The Huawei Mate 40 Pro and Pro+ feature a 6.76-inch OLED display that curves at the edges with 2772 × 1344 resolution and a pill-shaped cutout of the front facing cameras. It has an in-display fingerprint scanner, along with 90Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate.
At the back, the flagships have what Huawei calls the “Space Ring Design” for the cameras. The Huawei Mate 40 Pro has three at the back with a 50MP f/1.9 main, a 20MP f/1.8 wide-angle, and a 12MP f/3.4 periscope camera. The Mate 40 Pro+ has the same main camera, but paired with a 20MP f/2.4 wide-angle, a 12MP f/2.4 3x telephoto, an 8MP f/4.4 10x periscope telephoto, and a ToF 3D sensor.
For the front cameras, the Mate 40 Pro and Pro+ has a 13MP wide-angle selfie snapper with a ToF 3D sensor.

Inside, both phones are powered the Kirin 9000 chip. Its built on a 5nm process with four big ARM Cortex A77 cores (one at 3.13Ghz and three at 2.54GHz), and four small ARM Cortex A55 cores. The processor is paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. It also has a fast 24-core Mali-G78 GPU.
As for the batteries, the Pro models have 4,400mAh capacities. It supports 50-watt wireless fast charging and a blazing 66-watt wired fast charging.
Lastly, the Huawei 40 Pro series runs on EMUI 11 based on Android 10, and has Huawei Mobile Services with the App Gallery and Petal Search Widget.
Huawei did not mention when the flagships are going to become available. But we do know that they are bringing the whole series to the Philippines.
