Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) has announced to allow passage in NLEX, SCTEX, CAVITEX, C5 Link, and CALAX for motorists who don’t have RFIDs yet even after November 2.

However, they will be directed to the RFID installation lanes to have their RFID stickers installed. Their passage’s toll fee charge will be deducted from the initial load that they paid to get the RFID stickers.

“We will convert some of the remaining cash lanes in all toll plazas of MPTC expressways to RFID installation lanes. At the same time, the off-site customer service stations will continue to operate and install RFID stickers,” MPTC Chief of Technology and MPT South President and General Manager Roberto V. Bontia stated.

Bontia also mentioned that the stickers would remain to be free except for the initial load.

Supposedly, November 2 will be the first day of 100% RFID implementation in all expressways as compliant to the Department of Transportation’s (DOTr) Department Order 2020-012 to help control the spread of Covid-19 and relieve the passage.

According to NLEX Corporation President and General Manager J. Luigi L. Bautista, MPTC will open RFID installation lanes in all entry toll plazas to serve motorists who don’t have their Easytrip RFID yet even after November 2. Moreover, other RFID installation and reloading sites in various locations will remain open. Drive-thru reloading lanes will also be available in Balintawak, Mindanao, Bocaue, Angeles, and Tipo at NLEX-SCTEX.

“There’s no need for those who will not travel on November 2 or infrequent expressway travelers to be in a rush to get the RFID stickers since they can have the RFID installed on the day of their travel. This is to avoid overcrowding and long queues at the installation sites,” Bautista mentioned.

The toll company is also aware that this is a transition period for the motorists who have paid cash for a long time. However, there will also be RFID Assist Squads to assist motorists at the toll plaza.

Meanwhile, MPTC also reminds the public to get their Easytrip RFID stickers at authorized customer service stations. You may visit the NLEX, CAVITEX, and CALAX social media pages for more information.
