The Manila government buys Php994 million worth of digital learning tools to make public schools ready for the online classes this coming school year.
Because of COVID-19, educational institutions are set to adopt an online learning strategy. However, not all schools and students are to equipped to take on the challenge.
That’s why Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso finally came up with a plan after the meeting with the Local School Board.

To help provide distant blended learning equipment, the Manila government will be lending 110,000 tablets to Kinder up to Grade 12 public school students. In addition, 11,000 laptops will be lent to teachers so they can use it to create online learning solutions.
Aside from the tablet itself, it will also come loaded with 10GB of open mobile data allocation every month. For teachers, they will also receive a pocket Wi-Fi which will be loaded up each month.
These gadgets will be distributed ahead of the opening of academic year 2020-2021.
