The mobile gaming space has seen some large growth on its year-on-year for the second quarter of 2020 that brought sales up by 27% to $19.3 billion, Sensor Tower Intelligence claims.

According to the report, part of the surge in revenue draws from the massive downloads and subsequent spending in high-populated countries like India, Brazil, and United States. All three of which leading the rank in terms of the number of downloads alone, based on Q1 and Q2 monitoring.

China, believed to be the origin of the pandemic, also saw a spike in the download department on the first quarter, but sees it dipping significantly around second quarter. Possibly, caused by the lockdown that preceded other countries.

In terms of consumer spending, however, the United States saw the greatest amount of money spent on mobile games by $10 throughout the first half of 2020, followed by Japan at $8 billion.

Coinciding China’s dropping number of downloads, the nation also see a parallel decrease in revenue around the second quarter.

Leading the overall ranking in terms of sales is PUBG mobile. Meanwhile, App Store has Honor of Kings while Google Play Store has Lineage 2M at the top of their revenue rankings.
