Most areas in city has now entered the status of General Community Quarantine (GCQ), this means the restrictions are lighter, but with something as a ‘new normal’ there are some changes that goes with it. 

One such modification is the announcement of the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) of a Modified Number Coding Scheme set to start today, June 8. However, the MMDA said that it is postponed until further notice.

The implementation will be known as Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP), and the scheme identifies vehicles with the following exemptions:

1. All private vehicles given:

a. Two or more passengers, including the driver

b. Physical distancing should be strictly observed

c. All passengers are to be seen donning face masks

2. Owner-driver or private motor vehicles owned by doctors, nurses, and other medical practioners.

Part of this exemption are all Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APOR). TNVS are also asked to place signages to be easily identified by authorities. 

All 17 Metro Manila mayors approved of the regulation last May 26. Las Piñas, Parañaque and Muntinlupa will also follow these regulations within their city’s jurisdictions. 

Barangay Ayala Alabang chairman, Ruben Baes, also confirmed that they will bring back the number coding scheme along Commerce Ave. come the following week after observing that traffic has now increased. 

This number coding scheme has a schedule of 7am to 7pm with window hours of 9am to 4pm. This will also cover Hyundai Alabang to Daanghari Road.
