Netflix is increasing its pricing for United States customers.

As of writing, Netflix is offering three-tier plans in the US. There’s the basic USD9.00 plan for one person with 480p streaming, the Standard plan with two users at 1080p resolution for USD13.00, and lastly, the Premium tier for four-member families streaming at 4K for USD16.00 per month.

Now, it’s been revealed that the Standard and Premium plans have increased to USD14.00 and USD18.00, respectively. The Standard plan is untouched at USD9.00

However, the increased prices might be put to good use. Netflix acknowledges the new competition that came out through the years. There’s Disney Plus, Apple TV Plus, and more.

With that, they are planning to make more quality content and improve the platform’s technological features to prevent its user base from switching.

The latest prices will be implemented immediately and will be applied to the next billing cycle. Meanwhile, whether the price hike will be implemented in other markets like the Philippines is yet to be announced.

Other than Netflix, Spotify also revealed that they will be increasing their prices soon.
