Netflix recently announced its upcoming DOTA: Dragon’s Blood anime series, based on the popular video game franchise from Valve.
The new series will have 8 episodes and is set to launch globally on March 25, 2021. As mentioned, anime is based on the popular DOTA 2 video game from Valve.
DOTA: Dragon’s Blood follows the adventures of Davion, who becomes embroiled in events much larger that he expected, from encountering powerful and ancient eldwurms to meeting the noble Princess Mirana.
“Fans will love how we’ve imagined the DOTA 2 universe and woven together an epic, emotional, and adult-oriented story about some of their favorite characters,” said showrunner and executive producer Ashley Edward Miller. “The cinematic animation, acting and music are simply next level and I’m grateful to Valve for supporting our creative ambitions.”
Ashley Edward Miller (X-Men: First Class, Thor and Black Sails) serves as series showrunner and executive producer. While Studio MIR (The Legend of Korra and Netflix’s Voltron: Legendary Defender) is responsible for animation, with Ryu Ki Hyun serving as Co-Executive Producer.

On a side note, I am personally looking forward to the anime because I’m a sucker for the fantasy genre featuring knights and dragons.
