You’ve probably heard by now that the latest iPhone 12 series now has a smaller box. Apple said that this is one of the ways that they are helping to save planet earth.

But to attain this, Apple omitted the usual free charging adapter and earphones that come with every iPhones. New owners will only get the actual unit and the new Lightning to USB Type-C cable in the box, which dismayed many people since not everyone has a MacBook or a Type-C enabled adapter.

But the disappointment doesn’t stop there. Other than the newer models, older iPhones that are still part of the 2020 line-up will also be affected.

This means that the iPhone SE, XR, and iPhone 11 will only come with a Lightning to USB Type-C cable. You now have to purchase the EarPods and Apple 5W adapter separately.

What’s interesting is, the EarPods have been discounted to Php1,190, Php600 cheaper from its original price of Php1,790. It now has the same price as the standard 3.5mm EarPods. On the other hand, the 5W wall adapter is still at Php1,290.

What’s ironic is, getting these accessories separately means that you’d be getting another two individual boxes, beating Apple’s main objective.
