If the price is right, this is going to be a big hit in the PH.

OnePlus recently launched its first series mid-range phone. The OnePlus Nord 5G packs quite the punch, offering a lot of value for the price.
If all goes well, this could very well challenge mid-range stalwarts from the likes of Samsung, Huawei, and market disruptor realme. The OnePlus Nord 5G starts at a price of INR 28,000 for 8GB + 128GB model, and INR 30,000 for the souped up 12GB + 256GB model.
For those trying to convert to local currency, that’s around PHP 18,500 and PHP 20,000, respectively. Digital Walker, OnePlus’ authorized reseller in the Philippines, did mention its arrival in the country. Unfortunately, details on “how much” and “when” is still not available.
We’re hoping we get prices close to India’s, even with the extra fees and taxes. Finger’s crossed.
The OnePlus Nord 5G features a 6.44-inch FHD Fluid AMOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio, a 90Hz refresh rate, and an in-display fingerprint scanner, topped with Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Under the hood, we have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G — widely regarded as one of the fastest in the mid-range space. It is available in two configurations, 8GB + 128GB and 12GB +256GB. RAM is the LPDDR4X variety, while storage is UFS 2.1.
For selfies, the phone has a 32MP front snapper on a dew drop notch powered by a Sony IMX616 sensor.

At the back are four cameras with a 48MP main sensor rocking a Sony IMX586 and OIS. Secondary cameras include an 8MP ultra-wide, 5MP depth, and 2MP macro sensors.
The OnePlus Nord 5G, like most modern phones nowadays, also feature Nightscape mode, which, according to OnePlus, takes up to nine pictures and stacks it together to produce its low light photos.
Inside, the Nord 5G is powered by a 4,115mAh battery with a Warp Charge 30T fast charging that can top-ip the phone to 70% in 30 minutes through the USB Type-C port.
No, it doesn’t come with a head phone jack. But it does come with OxygenOS based on Android 10.
