After releasing a couple of disappointing phones that were just rebranded Xiaomi releases, POCO is finally wow-ing us again with something that disrupts its price category.
The POCO X3 NFC is a sub-Php10,000 smartphone that’s rigged with killer specs and price that you can’t find in this category. The hardware is so good for the price that we’re not even sure if Xiaomi is making money out of it.
It’s so good that even Xiaomi’s own Redmi Note 9 Pro is competing straight with it.
Sitting in the same category, the Note 9 Pro used to be the top option in this price range. But now that the X3 NFC is in the picture, that may change.
With that, here in our POCO X3 NFC versus Redmi Note 9 Pro specifications and features comparison, we’ll be checking the main differences between the two to see which smartphone is the better deal.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro is sandwiched with a sturdier Gorilla Glass 5 in front and back. The X3 NFC uses the same material on the front but only has a plastic back.
Although, the POCO X3 NFC does have a newer and more imaginative look. It has a textured design, with a specially printed POCO logo that reflects and reacts to light.
You can also notice the distinct new camera design on the back. On the other hand, the Note 9 Pro shares the same design that the other Redmi devices.
The POCO X3 NFC comes with an anti-bacterial clear case on the box, which should be enough to compensate for the use of the plastic back.
Here’s a clear win for the POCO X3 NFC. As you can see, it has a fast 120Hz refresh rate and a responsive 240Hz touch sampling, which makes it one of the cheapest — if not the cheapest — smartphone to have this feature. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 9 Pro settles for a regular 60Hz IPS screen.
POCO also went above and beyond and included a stereo speaker setup on the X3 NFC. It even has Hi-Res certification for better audio output on the headphone port.
Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 9 Pro settles for a less exciting single ultra-linear speaker.
The biggest lead of the POCO X3 NFC on the Redmi Note 9 Pro — and pretty much on any other devices in this price range — is its processor. It’s the first device to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G chipset, while the latter settles for a Snapdragon 720G.
Its processor is so good that it actually doesn’t even belong in this price range. It should be on Php15,000-and-up smartphones. What’s more, it also has a Liquid Cool Technology Plus to prevent overheating.
Their RAM/storage configurations and connectivity features are pretty much identical. They both come in 6GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB configs and has dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, USB Type-C, and the standard-issue IR blaster on Xiaomi phones.

Both the POCO X3 NFC and Redmi Note 9 Pro have similar camera setups. They come with 64-megapixel main shooters, macro cameras, and depth sensors.
They can also record 4K video videos, have Night Modes, and 960fps slow-mo recording.
The POCO X3 NFC gets a one-up by having a sharper 20-megapixel selfie camera (versus 16-megapixels), and a 13-megapixel (versus 8-megapixel) of the competition.
POCO also dominated the battery and charging on this specs comparison. It has a 5,160mAh battery, while the competition only has 5,020mAh.
Both models come with 33W chargers in the box, but only the POCO X3 NFC has full support as the latter is capped at 33W.
Well, I guess it’s pretty obvious, the POCO X3 NFC easily wins this specs comparison. It has a faster screen, a way more powerful processor, a bigger battery, and a more appealing design.
All that while managing to have a cheaper starting price of Php10,990 — which is Php1,500 cheaper than the Note 9 Pro, which costs Php12,490.
Considering how great it is, availability might be very limited for the POCO X3 NFC. So once it goes back in sale, make sure you act fast as it may go out of stock immediately.
