Filipinos are known to be passionate about gaming. But nowhere is this notion more pronounced to the world than with their conversations about it as brought to social media, particularly Twitter.

In just a span of a year alone (2019 to 2020), a staggering amount of data was gathered which see Pinoys engaging more in gaming discussions via Twitter, so much as to see a growth of 87% within the timeframe.

While that is indeed a shock, what’s more jaw-dropping is the idea that the country has made it to the top 10 of countries that made the most tweet about gaming—specifically, in the 9th spot.

Among video game titles that caught the nation’s attention, popular games like Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Genshin Impact, Among Us, PUBG, and League of Legends generated the most buzz.

Other interest in the same field includes local esports teams.
