Making for a first in history, a Filipino DOTA “underdog” scored an upset victory against two-time DOTA 2 world champion Johan “N0tail” Sundstein in a recently-held 1v1 showmatch.
Zedrik “Jeff” Dizon, a student of the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), got the chance to compete against the iconic figure after emerging as a winner in the R1v1r Runes Philippines tournament, which pitted players from across the nation last May.
The first match ended with a win for N0tail whose Juggernaut left no chance for kills against Jeff’s in a 3-0 sweep.

The second match saw the tide completely turned when Jeff’s Windranger dominated the round with zero deaths.
The third and final match sealed the event in favor of Jeff with a 3-2 win, pitting his Undead against N0tail’s.
Despite being relatively obscure in the scene, Zedric “Jeff” Dizon holds an outstanding record of 100% wins from the 2020 R1v1r Runes tournament, an event that sees players fighting against opponent in a 1-to-1 mirror mode.
