Redmi, a subsidiary of Xiaomi, unveiled the Redmi 9 and Redmi 9 Prime last month in India, which is similar to the Redmi 9C International edition. Now, Chinese smartphone maker today announced in India the release of the Redmi 9i, a rebranded version of the Redmi 9A that was unveiled in the country earlier this month.

The Redmi 9A and Redmi 9i only difference are that the 9i comes with more RAM and memory, this has also raised questions as to why change the name. It could easily have been called the Redmi 9A variant with more storage.
