Smart Communications, Inc. is seeking to build up partnership with independent tower companies in a bid to keep up with the increasing demand for better mobile internet services. The collaboration will see the giant telecommunications company tapping on pre-existing infrastructures that will deliver better service to consumers in shortest amount of time possible.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Smart claims that it had already signed an agreement with 6 tower companies that will effectively bring around 200 macro cell sites. But the company also claims to be seeking an additional four in order to meet target goals.

The 6 companies that Smart had struck a deal with Isoc edotco Towers Inc., Phil Tower Consortium, ALT Global Solutions Inc., Communication and Renewable Energy Infrastructure Phils. Inc., Frontier Tower Associates Philippines Inc., and Ison Tower Ltd. Inc.

The initiative is a significant leverage to Smart whose area of business has seen sluggish approval process involving legal entities.
