Without a doubt, the midrange smartphone market is the most competitive among all price segments. And now that affordable 5G phones are starting to come out, the competition is getting even tougher.

Vivo Y70s, latest addition to the Y-series, offers a lot of features for a decent price tag. It is now confirmed to be the first smartphone to run on the new Exynos 880 processor, which is basically an underclocked version of the Exynos 980.

The phone has a 6.53-inch Full HD+ display with 16-megapixel selfie camera placed inside the punch hole cutout in the top left corner. On the back, there’s a 48-megapixel primary shooter, 8-megapixel ultrawide, and 2-megapixel depth lenses.

The Exynos 880 is built on an 7nm process and it includes 6 small A55 1.8GHz cores plus 2 Cortex-A77 2GHz cores. RAM is either 6GB or 8GB, but the storage is fixed at 128GB.

As usual, the software running on the Vivo Y70s is the company’s own FunTouchOS 10 based on Android 10. Other features include a 4,500mAh battery capacity and 18W quick charging.

Vivo Y70s is currently available in white, black, and blue colors. Its base 6GB + 128GB model is priced at CNY 1,998 in China, while the 8GB + 128GB variant costs CNY 2,198. Converting them directly, they are around Php14,200 and Php15,700 before taxes in the Philippines.
