After a recent move by Apple to ban xCloud in its platform, the streaming service has undergone a name change to Xbox Game Streaming and will see Android as its sole mobile home. In addition, it also forms a new partnership with Electronic Arts which will see an influx of games into its service.
As part of the two’s business endeavor, anyone who is subscribed to the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (a $15 monthly subscription that offers $1-only payment for the first month) will get to experience EA Play without further charge.
EA Play is Electronic Arts’ own subscription-based service that lets patrons play games from a large library of back catalog games on PC or console, which is free for the first 10 hours. Beyond the 10-hour trial, EA Play charges $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year.
The collaboration offers a perfect opportunity for both parties which sees Electronic Arts’ catalog of games seeing new outlet in a streaming platform, which EA Play is not. Hopeful about the deal, Microsoft states that more ES titles are bound to arrive on the Xbox Game Streaming soon.
