From entry-level to midrange devices, both brands are also battling it out in the high-end segment. A few months ago, the OPPO sub-brand launched the Realme X3 SuperZoom, an affordable flagship device that brings many high-end features on the cheap.

Going against it is the brand new Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro. Just like the former, it offers a couple of fancy features that you’d only normally see in devices almost twice its price.

Both models come with flagship-level processors, displays, cameras, charging, and more.

Design and Build Quality

As you can see, both the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro and Realme X3 SuperZoom are sandwiched with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and built around an aluminum body. These ensure a solid and durable build.

On the downside, neither have any IP rating for water and splash resistance, nor any splash proofing.

Both devices also use IPS panels instead of AMOLED, so don’t expect the thinnest bezels ever. Still, their punch-holes made the corners seamless. Although, the Realme device has a larger and slightly more distracting cutout since it has two front-facing cameras.

For the overall design, we kind of like the Mi 10T Pro more. It features a shiny back panel with a new camera placement like what the Mi 10 Ultra has. On the other hand, the X3 SuperZoom’s plain look and vertical camera placement feel a little boring.

Design and Audio

The Realme X3 SuperZoom has a fast 120Hz 6.6-inch FHD+ IPS screen. It makes things from browsing the interface to gaming buttery smooth.

But obviously, the Mi 10T Pro takes the win on this round. As you can see, it has a much faster 144Hz refresh rate. Albeit, the difference in speed between 120Hz and 144Hz is barely noticeable to the naked eye.

What really sets it apart is its HDR10+ support and the 650-nits peak brightness, which the latter lacks.

It also has dual super-linear speakers and Hi-Res audio. However, the Realme device gets the one-up by having Dolby Atmos support.

Oh, and if you’re still hoping for headphone jacks to make a comeback on high-end phones, then you better start moving on.

Hardware and Performance

Here’s a clear win for the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro. As you can see, it’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor. A newer and more powerful chipset than the Snapdragon 855 Plus of the competition.

To Realme’s credit, the X3 SuperZoom does have an extra 4GB of RAM at 12GB. Albeit, the difference should be negligible, especially when you consider that the former has a better processor and a faster screen, and UFS 3.1 storage.

On the downside, neither have microSD card slots for storage expansion, so you’re stuck with their 256GB onboard storage.

Oh, and of course, the Mi 10T Pro has next-gen 5G connectivity, making it futureproof. It also has NFC for wireless payment and an IR blaster for your non-smart appliances.

Cameras

As the name implies, the Realme X3 SuperZoom has an 8-megapixel periscope-style lens that can do up to 60x of digital zoom. You can check out our full review for the camera samples.

Albeit, the novelty of zooming in on faraway objects might wear off easily. With that, you might actually want a camera that takes images with a better overall quality.

That’s something you can get from the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro’s 108-megapixel primary camera, which has a bright f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilization. It easily outshines the X3 SuperZoom’s 64-megapixel f/1.8 camera, which lacks OIS.

However, Realme does offer more in the selfie department. As you can see, it has a sharper 32-megapixel main shooter and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens for monopod-less group shots. Meanwhile, the Mi 10T Pro settles for a 20-megapixel front-facing camera.

Battery

The Realme X3 SuperZoom has a decent 4,200mAh battery with an apt 30W Dart Charge. That’s acceptable for its price, but obviously, the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro takes home the cake on this one.

As you can see, it has a bigger 5,000mAh battery, which can give longer hours than the latter. There’s also the slightly faster wired charger. However, it primarily takes the lead thanks to its fast wireless charging and reverse wireless charging support, which the Realme device lacks.

Conclusion

For the same price of Php24,990, the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro offers a faster screen, newer and faster processor, better main camera with 8K recording, stereo speakers, larger battery with wireless charging support, NFC, IR blaster, and of course, 5G connectivity.

However, since it’s one of the best smartphones in its price range, devices like this can easily go out of stock. So makes sure to act fast when it goes back on sale.

On the other hand, you won’t be experiencing supply shortage on Realme and its tons of stores around the country.
