Xiaomi’s latest bang-for-buck budget phone, the Redmi 9T, is coming to the Philippines. If true, the price suggests great value for a smartphone features a Snapdragon 662 chipset with a 48MP main camera and a massive 6,000mAh battery.
The phone was teased by Xiaomi Philippines via a new banner image on its official Facebook page.
As for the price, it was not yet officially revealed. But one of their followers posted a screenshot from the Xiaomi Official Store Global on Shopee which showed the Redmi 9T 6GB + 64GB with a price of Php 6,990 in the Philippines, but marked as unavailable. Interestingly, the phone is priced similarly to the Poco M3, which shares some of the key specs like the chipset and main camera.
Take note that the Shopee listing seems to have been since been taken down and I am unable to find it on official online shopping channels. Do take this with a grain of salt, just in case.
To refresh your memories, the Redmi 9T features a 6.53-inch FHD+ Dot Drop display with a dew drop notch housing an 8MP selfie camera, TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
It has four cameras at the back, namely a 48MP main, an 8MP ultra-wide, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor.

The Redmi 9T is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 with 4GB RAM and up to 128GB storage. It also boasts of a 6,000mAh battery with support for 18-watt fast charging. In the box is a 22.5-watt fast charger.
The rest of the specs include a USB-C port, stereo speakers, an IR blaster, and 3.5mm headphone jack.
If that is really the price of the Redmi 9T in the Philippines, the arrival of the new budget phone will surely shake up the local market.
