Xiaomi’s popular Redmi Note 9 line is getting a new member with the new Note 9T.
In their social media handles, the company confirms that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9T actually exists. Xiaomi Global didn’t technically announce the release date just yet. Still, a slip up from Xiaomi Spain did reveal in a deleted Twitter post that the device will launch on January 8 via a live stream even at 11 AM GMT+1 (6 PM in the Philippines).
The post also reveals that the Note 9T will have 5G connectivity — a first in the series. Other than that, the rest of the specs list is still a mystery. But, rumors hints that it may be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 800U octa-core processor, with 8GB of RAM, 256GB UFS 2.2 storage, an enormous 5,000mAh battery, and 18W fast charging.
It should ship with the latest MIUI 12.5 interface, with a 6.53-inch IPS FHD screen. The teaser photos show a circular glass on the back, which is familiar to the Note 9 5G that came out in China last November.

If we didn’t know any better, this might be the global version of the Note 9 5G. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
