Xiaomi has recently released an advisory that warns people in buying their devices, as well as products under their Mi and Mijia products online.
As posted on the Xiaomi Global Facebook page, the brand informs consumers that some online trading platforms have been misleadingly appropriate Xiaomi, Mi, and Mijia brand names on non-Xiaomi products. To ensure authenticity, Xiaomi reminds people to buy only from authorized channels.
Xiaomi said that they have been in touch with relevant trading platforms and individual sellers “to prevent the unauthorized use of their trademarks” and “protect consumer rights”. The brand also stated that it has filed formal complaints regarding infringements.
As of this writing, the number of unauthorized Xiaomi sellers is decreasing gradually.
Customers in the Philippines may buy Xiaomi products through official distributors, Shopee, Lazada, Mi Stores, and Mi Zones nationwide.
