We’re yet to see the iPhone 12 series in the flesh. However, Apple have already revealed that the key component that these devices have.

Detailed alongside the new iPads and Apple Watches, we assume that the A14 Bionic chip, built on the 5nm process, will only feature 17% faster CPU and 8% better GPU from its predecessor.

Now, AnTuTu has spilled the beans on the benchmark score of the upcoming iPhone 12 Pro Max, which runs on the said processor. It shows that, compared to the iPhone 11 Pro Max and its A13 Bionic Chip, the A14 Bionic have 16% and 4% improved CPU and GPU performance, respectively.

That’s not a significant upgrade, but it does reveal a noticeable 22% upgrade in memory speeds.

What’s disappointing is — for iPhone fans at least — the A14 Bionic chip only got a benchmark score of 572,333. That lower than the AnTuTu score of the Snapdragon 865 and 865 Plus, which averages at 600,000+.

But knowing Apple products, benchmark numbers shouldn’t be the sole basis of performance. Chances are, Apple toned-down the processing power to favor battery efficiency.
