Popular camera reviewer DxOMark just published its take on the iPhone 12 Pro, and churned out “meh” results.
It appears that the iPhone 12 Pro only has marginal improvements over its predecessor, last year’s iPhone 11 Pro. In fact, the score difference is only about 4 points.
The smartphone got an overall score of 128 points, placing it in fourth place right with the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro. They are sitting below the Mate 40 Pro, Mi 10 Ultra, and P40 Pro in first to third places, respectively.
The experts may not be overly impressed with its camera improvements, but the website did applaud its video recording capabilities. It has HLG Dolby Vision technology, which offers a wider dynamic range.
Furthermore, DxOMark liked the 12 Pro cameras’ consistent autofocus, accurate exposure, good rendering of colors and detail, skin tones, and effective stabilization in video.
However, the reviewer was not happy about its limited dynamic range in photos, random color casts outdoors and video, noises in low light shots, and image artifacts. You can read their full review here.
It may not be the best camera phone around, but the iPhone 12 series is definitely the only top option for Apple fans out there, especially now that they have released a much smaller model. If you’re interested, you can check out their official prices in the Philippines.
