The gaming phone features a Helio G85 and a 6000mAh battery.

TL;DR: We unboxed the Narzo 30A, the latest midrange gaming phone from value brand realme.
The realme Narzo 30A launched globally last February. Now, the company is bringing its latest budget gaming phone to the Philippines as its first smartphone launch of the year.
The local office sent us a test unit for evaluation. And while our full review is shaping up, we share our quick unboxing and initial impressions.
In contrast to the usual yellow retail boxes of mainstream realme phones, the Narzo 30A comes in a new baby blue packaging with the Narzo branding upfront.
The box has a sleeve-type cover that slides open to reveal the insides. You’ll be greeted by the Narzo 30A unit, along with the charging brick, a USB-C cable, the SIM eject tool, a Quick Start Guide, and other documentation. The phone also has a pre-installed screen protector.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t come with a case or earphones. The tradeoff is a likely concession to achieve a friendlier price tag.
In terms of design, the Narzo 30A doesn’t stray too far off from the Narzo 20. It sports a textured back with realme’s diagonal stripe design that only goes about 3/4 of the way. The style, they say, represents motion, alluding to the phone’s gaming nature.
At the front, the Narzo 30A has a large 6.5-inch HD+ Mini-drop display with 1600 x 720 resolution and a water drop notch for the 8MP selfie camera. It features a Sunlight mode, which allows up to 570 nits of brightness.
The back panel has the phone’s rear cameras, which rests on a square module. It looks like there are four shooters here, but in actuality, it only has two cameras — a 13MP main and a 2MP B/W portrait. The other two circles are for the LED flash and an AI icon (for decoration).
The fingerprint scanner is also at the back, placed 3/4 of the way up. It is easily within reach of an index finger. The phone also has face unlock, in case you want a faster way to get inside the phone.

All buttons are on the right side with the volume rocker and the power key. The left-hand side has the SIM tray with three slots (two nano SIMs and one microSD card). At the bottom, there’s the 3.5mm headphone jack, mic, USB-C port, and speaker grill.
As for the internal specs, the Narzo 30A is powered by a 12nm 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 processor with a Mali-G52 GPU. The phone features dual-band Wi-Fi AC and Bluetooth 5.
Our review unit, in Lazer Blue, comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. There’s also a 3GB + 32GB variant that was announced when it launched globally, but we’re not sure if realme is going to release that in the Philippines.

Lastly, the Narzo 30A sports a huge 6,000mAh battery, a welcome addition for a gaming-focused phone. They also added support for 18-watts fast charging via USB-C, which is highly appreciated for one with such a large capacity.
So far, the realme Narzo 30A checks a lot of boxes for what makes an ideal budget gaming phone. It has a capable processor in the Helio G85, a large 6,000mAh battery with fast charging, dual-band Wi-Fi, and an eye-catching design.
Unfortunately, we don’t know how much it costs yet. But looking at India prices (INR 9,999 for the 4GB + 64GB, translating to around Php 6,700), we don’t have much to worry about on that front.
So, stay tuned for our full review.
The realme Narzo 30A will officially launch in the Philippines on March 25, 6PM via live stream on their official channels.
