ASUS ROG Phone 3 and Zenfone 7 flagship phones spotted - Android

The ASUS ROG Phone 3, a successor to one of the most popular gaming phones in the market, was showcased in a quick 8-second leaked hands-on video.

It shows a design that’s very similar to the ROG Phone II. It’s still sandwiched by glass and has the RGB-lit ROG logo on the back, with for-gamer accents that are less aggressive than before. You can also notice the Tencent brand on the back, suggesting that this is going to be the affordable model. The ROG Phone II also had the same variant.

You can also see the difference in the camera glass. It’s now much wider to accommodate a third camera. We already have an ultra-wide in the sequel, so this might be a telephoto lens or a depth sensor.

A recent AnTuTu benchmark leak reveals that it’s going to be the most powerful smartphone once it comes out. Sporting a whopping 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, it got a score of 646,310.

For a perspective, the Mi 10 Pro, which uses the same Snapdragon 865 processor, currently tops AnTuTu’s best-performing flagship list with an average score of 590,838. Rumor has it that the chipset on the ASUS ROG Phone 3 will be overclocked at 3.1GHz (from 2.84GHz), hence the higher benchmark score.

Rumors also suggest that it will come with a 6.59-inch FHD+ OLED screen, with a fast 144Hz refresh rate just like the Red Magic Nubia. ASUS was also generous with the 6,000mAh battery, accompanied by a 30W fast charger.

Moreover, a device with a codename asus ZF was also spotted on Geekbench, which is expected to be the ASUS Zenfone 7. It should also use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, minus the overclocking. But, it’s still a killer with a whopping 16GB of RAM.

The rest of the specs is unkown, but it would be cool to have the flip-up camera of the Zenfone 6 to make a comeback.

ASUS is yet to reveal the release details of the ROG Phone 3 and Zenfone 7. However, rumor points to a July 2020 release, so be on the lookout for that.
