Despite its relatively heftier price tag, the Apple Watch remains as the most prominent smartwatch in the market. With rumors circulating which suggest that a new, affordable product in the same line-up is in the works, it seems likely that Apple is going to dominate the market further.

According to a leaker named Komiya, Apple seems to be brewing something that could potentially manifest sometime next spring. Which, like the iPhone SE 2020, is a low-cost device and is due for release next year.

Essentially a follow-up to the existing line-up, the “Apple Watch SE” would feature a similar processor as the Apple Watch Series 6. In addition, it is also believed to supplant the Series 3 and will have a semblance of an older Apple Watch.

Designed with durability in mind, the Apple Watch SE will come with aluminum casing. In addition, the Digital Crown will remain as an instrument of the device for haptic feedback.

Connectivity-wise, the smart watch will be powered by the W4 chip for wireless connectivity, as well as separate Bluetooth 5.0 functionality. Internal storage will be at 16GB capacity. Alternatively, a model with cellular connectivity will also be released.

Corroborating to the gossip are also similar claims by prolific leaker, Jon Prosser, and a relatively unknown leaker, Apple RUMOR.
