Amazon has recently launched Luna, a dedicated cloud gaming service for Fire TV, desktops, and mobile devices.

According to Amazon, Luna, which is powered by Amazon Web Services, allows user to play their games via streaming. This means that players don’t need to have expensive hardware, download, and install their games on their devices.

Players may enjoy Luna with a keyboard and mouse, a Bluetooth game controller, or the dedicated Luna Controller powered with Cloud Direct technology. Luna Controller is Alexa-enabled and connects directly to the cloud servers for seamless gameplay. It is equipped with a multiple-antenna design, reducing latency gaming by 17 to 30 milliseconds among desktops and Fire TV. It allows players to switch between devices without pairing or changing their configurations.

Players may subscribe to gaming channel Luna+ that includes titles like Resident Evil 7, Control, Panzer Dragoon; A Plague Tale: Innocence, The Surge 2, Yooka-Laylee and The Impossible Lair, Iconoclasts, GRID, ABZU, and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. Luna+ subscribers may also enjoy playing on two devices simultaneously at 4K/60fps for select titles.

Amazon also announced a new gaming channel with leading global video game publisher Ubisoft, available directly through Luna. Players who subscribe to this channel will have access to their favorite Ubisoft titles in up to 4K resolution, mobile gameplay, and access to new titles when the channel launches like Assassins Creed ValhallaFar Cry 6, and Immortals Fenyx Rising the same day they release. This is the first of multiple Luna game channels in development, where customers can play games from their favorite publishers and genres. Amazon is yet to announce its monthly subscription price.

Amazon has also partnered with Ubisoft to make a new gaming channel dedicated to mobile gameplay and access to the video game publisher’s previous and new titles at 4K resolution the same day they release. This includes the upcoming Assassins Creed Valhalla, Far Cry 6, and Immortals Fenyx Rising. Select titles will be available in their ultimate edition with DLC.

Among other features of Luna includes integration of Twitch to its platform that allows users to watch Twitch streams for games through the service and play Luna games from Twitch.

US residents may join the early access for Luna by requesting an invitation to this link.

The Amazon Luna Controller is priced at USD 49.99 while the Luna+ subscription is priced at USD 5.99 a month. The latter will offer more games over time.

Amazon Luna will be available on Fire TV natively while Windows and Mac will run it as desktop apps. As for mobile devices, iPhones and iPad may run it using web apps. Amazon is still working on its Android version but it will be available soon.
