Bent on seeing an improved internet in the country, particularly in the rural areas, the Better Broadband Alliance (BBA) is calling on the Congress to pass the Open Access in Data Transmission and Faster Internet Services bills.

The two bills are said to be critical in the policy reforms and will essentially pay attention to President Rodrigo Duterte’s recurring imperatives towards improved telecommunications and internet services.

Receiving the call in the form of a letter are Senate President Vicente Sotto III and House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco.

Drawing data from various sources, BBA exclaims the nation’s status with regards to its citizen’s access to the internet, highlighting how large percentages of individuals across diverse classifications are still without an approach to it, mainly due to existing network providers’ inability to cater.

If passed, the two bills will play a crucial role in enhancing the country’s internet service through the easier installment of infrastructures and by mandating internet service providers a truthful and consistent broadband speed.

BBA is an organization of stakeholders who share a common goal of establishing better broadband internet services in the nation.
