MPCALA Holdings Inc. is reminding motorists to regularly check their vehicle’s license plates to avoid being stopped when passing through CALAX.
Following Section 18 of the Republic Act 4136 or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code, “number plates shall be kept and cared for and shall be firmly affixed to the motor vehicle in such a manner as will make it entirely visible and always legible.” As such, the LTO has deputized Patrol Crew assigned to the CALAX to enforce the law and flag down vehicles with dirty, dilapidated, and or damaged plates. Moreover, vehicles with unnoticeable plates, no license plate numbers, and improvised plates without a permit from the LTO will also be flagged down.
By complying with the rule, CALAX’ Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) System will be able to read license plates that pass through the toll plazas accurately. CALAX is also urging motorists to use the RFID lanes for safer, faster, and more convenient transactions at the toll plazas.
“We tirelessly inform motorists about the CALAX’s barrierless entry via the ALPR System and going cashless with Easytrip RFID as a means that enables quick pass through at the toll plazas, contactless, and convenient. We will maximize all available technology and implement it not just here in CALAX, but also in CAVITEX, CAVITEX C5 LINK,” AVP for Communication and Stakeholder Management for MCPALA Holdings Inc. Ms. Arlette V. Capistrano said.
