DITO Telecommunity has just joined the Philippine market, officially becoming the third major telco in the country.

Here are some of the things you need to know about their service, including compatible smartphones, their welcome offer, location availability, and more.

Compatible Smartphones

DITO uses different hardware for its network, necessitating compatible phones for you to be able to fully maximize their service.

One requirement we are aware of is the need for VoLTE or Voice Over LTE capable device. If your phone doesn’t have the feature, then there’s a chance you’ll get limited functionality on DITO.

Where to buy SIM and prepaid load

DITO SIM cards can be purchased in DITO retail outlets or the DITO online store. Prepaid load credits are available on the DITO mobile app or in DITO retail outlets.

The regular DITO SIM card is priced at Php 40.00. It comes with 1GB mobile data valid for 7 days.

The app is not yet available on the Google Play Store. A link will be sent to users where the app can be downloaded upon purchase and activation of the SIM card.

Initial “Welcome Offer”

DITO Telecommunity’s initial or “welcome offer” includes Unlimited Data and DITO to DITO Calls and Texts calls for only Php 199, valid for 30 days. The promo is available from March 8 to 31, 2021 in select cities in Cebu and Davao.

The company will launch its regular offers soon.

Availability

At the moment, DITO is only available in the following areas.

• Metro Cebu – Carcar, Cebu City, Consolacion, Danao, Liloan, Mandaue, Minglanilla, Naga, San Fernando, and Talisay
• Metro Davao – Panabo, Tagum, Carmen, Davao City, and Digos

It is coming to Metro Manila on a later date.
