Celebrity Dingdong Dantes announced that he will be releasing his own DingDongPH delivery service.
The multi-faceted actor announced in a Fireside live chat last Thursday that the DingDong PH delivery service will help those who were working in show business but lost their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As per Dantes, the idea came up when he and his wife, Marian Rivera, faced logistics issues with their own home-based flower business, resulting in Dantes make the deliveries himself.
The initial idea of creating a delivery service snowballed in the past few weeks after he talked to a couple of friends who have the same passion and vision.
This is how the Doorbell Technologies was born. A clever homage to the actor’s screen name, who is actually Jose Sixto Raphael Gonzalez Dantes III in real life.
Dantes said that the social impact must be clear in every special project is making. That’s why he wanted to invite colleagues to work with it. These are people in the entertainment industry who lost their livelihood because of the pandemic.
This isn’t the first time DingDong Dantes headed an initiative to help workers who were unemployed by the pandemic. While everyone is in quarantine, his YesPinoy foundation offered online jobs for those who wanted to work from home.
The release date for the new DingDong PH app is yet to be announced. But as of writing, the branding is almost complete, with an official logo and social media handles now created.
