Facebook Gaming has recently announced its partnership with various partners in the music industry to allow partner streamers to play licensed music during streams. The initiative aims to open up a vast catalog of popular music for Facebook Gaming streamers.

Among the music labels and publishers that Facebook reached out were Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Kobalt Music Group, BMG publishing, and Merlin, among others. The latest feature will initially roll out with partnered creators.

Partner streamers are allowed to stream music as long as it’s in the background, with game sound effects and their voice over the top. They are prohibited from streaming music as the sole audio element in their live and recorded videos, as well as short clips. However, they may use music from the Facebook Sound Collection. They may also see this link for the complete guidelines.

They are also free to play music from their preferred subscription service or downloads from their personal music collection.

Facebook didn’t share its licensing agreements between its music partners. However, partner streamers will be notified on the section of their video once it plays and matches a restricted track. They may check their recent notifications or email for additional details regarding the affected stream and appeal it via this link.

As of present, all creators may access Facebook Sound Collection’s library of custom and royalty-free music and sound effects. They can use it on the videos they share on Facebook and Instagram.

Facebook Gaming is currently working to bring the new feature for Level Up creators. Currently, it has secured music licenses covering more than 90 countries and will bring new features soon.
