In an experiment which vies to see the social media platform’s relevance in politics, Facebook is offering its Instagram and Facebook users to temporarily close their accounts in exchange for money. The social media campaign comes ahead of USA’s 2020 presidential election.

Washington Post reporter Elizabeth Dwoskin posted some screenshots displaying the offer as it appears on Instagram.

Just earlier this week, Facebook was quoted for collaborating with external researchers whose aim is to examine the impact of social media on society, particularly during the US 2020 election.
