With the iPhone 12 series priced in the Philippines, it’s only a matter of time until it becomes available in stores. But according to picodi.com, it will take almost 3 months of saving for the average Filipino to be able to buy the iPhone 12 Pro.
The latest iPhone Index 2020 lists down the number of workdays the average citizen of a given country have to save to afford the iPhone 12 Pro (128GB). And at the bottom of the list is the Philippines, where the average Filipino have to save all his income for 88.2 days to be able to afford the new iOS device. In contrast, the average Swiss need only 4.4 days of savings.
The iPhone 12 Pro was announced last October, only recently becoming available in the global market. In the Philippines, the handset is yet to become officially available in stores. The 128GB variant is priced at Php 62,990.
Other Southeast Asian countries such as Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand take an average of 8.1, 29.1, and 40.6 days, respectively.

Picodi’s iPhone Index 2020 has been calculated on the basis of iPhone 12 Pro prices announced publicly on local Apple or authorized seller websites. The average salaries come from the countries’ official ministry or statistical office pages and are valid for the date of publishing iPhone prices in the respective countries.
Interestingly, the index not only shows the number of workdays needed to buy an iPhone 12 Pro, but also the disparities between average wages of the respective countries.
